Flipkart Plus loyalty reward service goes live for some users: How it works


The Flipkart Plus is currently available as a part of new app update, however, only for limited set of users.


Flipkart, a home-grown e-commerce platform, is gearing up to launch on August 15 a loyalty programme that will be called the Flipkart Plus to take on its arch rival Amazon’s Prime subscription service. However, before the final rollout, the company has enabled the feature on its app for some users to beta test the service. The Flipkart Plus is currently available as a part of new app update, however, only for limited users.


As reported earlier, the Flipkart Plus is a no-cost membership model in which the e-commerce portal would offer several exclusive benefits to users such as free delivery, early access to sale events and rewards across brands based on the frequency of transactions a customer makes. The company is offering the Flipkart Plus benefits at no extra cost or subscription amount. Instead, Flipkart customers can join the membership by earning 50 Plus coins, one Plus coin on every Rs 250 spent.




Things to know about Flipkart loyalty programme


Flipkart Plus is a loyalty programme in which customers earn reward points on every purchase

Called Plus coins, 50 of these rewards points are required to join the Flipkart Plus membership
Flipkart is offering one Plus Coin on every 250 spent; maximum of 10 coins per order
Flipkart Plus membership offers free delivery, early access to exclusive sale events, priority customer service and exchange offers.


This is not the first time the home-grown e-commerce portal has announced a loyalty programme service. In 2014, the company rolled out a service called the Flipkart First in which the company promised to offer similar sort of benefits at a subscription amount of Rs 500 per year. However, the service did not get much traction and was eventually taken down

Honor 9N sale starts today on Flipkart: Where to buy the smartphone

Honor, the online subsidiary of Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei, on July 24 launched the Honor 9N in India. The Flipkart-exclusive smartphone will be available in three RAM and storage configurations -- 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB. It will go on sale from July 31 by 12 noon and will be available in lavender purple, sapphire blue, midnight black and robin egg blue colours.

The rise of Honor: A bried review

With 188 per cent growth, Honor was one of the fastest growing brands in India in the second quarter of 2018 -- registering a three per cent market share and grabbing fifth spot.

The 5.84-inch Full HD+ device has 79 per cent screen-to-body ratio. There's a speaker grille and the front camera on the notch. You can also enable or disable the notch as per wish.

At this affordable range, the display quality was great with good amount of saturation, deep blacks and sunlight legibility. A 2.5D curved glass design with 12 layers of glass with nano-coating finish gave mirror-like effect.

The device is perfect in size as navigating it with a single hand hardly posed any obstacle.
Powered by the Kirin 659 processor and equipped with a dedicated i5 Co-processor, the device comes with hybrid-dual SIM support.

On the software front, the smartphone runs latest Android 8.0 (Oreo) operating system (OS) topped with Honor's custom EMUI 8.0. The UI also comes with a gaming mode that will let you play games without much distraction.

On the Pixel 2, the online shopping portal is offering a flat discount of Rs 16,001, cashback of Rs 8,000 on select cards and an additional exchange value of Rs 3,000 that brings down the effective cost of the smartphone to Rs 42,999. In addition, the e-commerce portal is also offering an optional buyback policy at Rs 199, which assures the buyback value of Rs 37,000. However, the buyback value is applicable only if the phone is exchanged to purchase another smartphone from the portal between six and eight months.
